Ardbeg Encourages You To Get Smuggly In Dark Cove
Ardbeg has launched their limited edition Ardbeg Dark Cove as their way of celebrating the Islay Festival of Malt and Music in May taking place next month on the famous whisky-producing island. Ardbeg’s island home – Islay – was the origin of a profitable whisky-smuggling business back in the day [18th and 19th centuries] and the distillery will celebrate that whisky-smuggling past with the release of Dark Cove as part of the island’s festivities. Ardbeg Dark Cove is a single malt Scotch whisky bottled at 46.5% alcohol content [93 proof] and comes from whisky matured in sherry casks.
Ardbeg Dark Cove will be available for $140 per bottle either directly at the distillery headquarters on May 28, 2016 for a two week period at “Ardbeg Embassies” (a global network of retailers who love and have agreed to educate their consumers on Ardbeg). Otherwise, Ardbeg Dark Cove will become available for the rest of the world on June 11, 2016.
