Beer Week Underway In New York City

If you like beer and you like New York City then this is the best week of the year for you as the Sixth Annual Beer Week gets underway. The sudsy festival of brews is sponsored by the New York City Brewers Guild and the most common occurrence you will see over the course of the week is a Tap Takeover – where, typically, a craft brewery will “take over” the taps of a participating establishment with offerings of all its brewery’s beery offerings. Among the highlights: Beer Dinner at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que [Tuesday, February 25] with brews paired with food options; ChocBrewVana at the 508 Gastro brewery [Thursday, February 27] in which chocolate is paired with various beers and of course the Beer Hump Day of Beer Week, Wednesday, February 26, when more than 30 craft brewers from NYC and the local vicinity gather at the Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn for a beer-o-rama tasting.

Beer Week runs through March 2, 2014 with several locations around the city offering Beer Week-related specials and events.
