Berry Bros. & Rudd Bring Out Exceptional Casks
Berry Bros. & Rudd have brought out three whisky bottlings to add to their Exceptional Casks Collection – whiskies emanating from now-defunct distilleries, having a distinguishing flavor characteristic or maturing in a particular cask. For this release of whiskies, the three bottlings consist of….
• 472 bottles of a rare 50-Year-Old ‘North British’, single grain whisky taken from two remaining sister casks on their 50th birthday [December 18th 2012]. Bottled at a whopping 58.9% alcohol content [117.8 proof], available at a retail price of $800 per bottle.
• Two single casks of 1972 Glenlivet single malt: 170 bottles of Cask #1072, at 53.2% alcohol content [106.4 proof] BV, and a mere 40 bottles of Cask #1081, bottled at 46.1% alcohol content [92.2 proof]. Both are priced at $1,045 per bottle.
The Exceptional Cask Collection is due to be launched in October 2014 directly from the Berry, Bros. & Rudd Distillery
