Caol Ila Gets Jazzy
Islay-based Caol Ila Distillery has released an 18-year-old limited edition whisky as part of their official collaboration with the Islay Jazz Festival, which will be having their 27th festival to celebrate jazz and Scotch whisky from September 19-21, 2025, on the Scottish island.
Caol Ila, the largest distillery on the island, is joining the Islay Jazz Festival for the first time as an official partner and to commemorate the occasion, has produced the heavily peated Caol Ila 18-year-old Jazz Festival Edition, The Guitarist.
Caol Ila The Guitarist was initially matured 18 years in an American oak barrel, finished in a cask with toasted Scottish oak cask ends, bottled at 52.8% alcohol by volume [105.6 proof] and is said to produce notes of apple, cinnamon, peat, pepper and smoke.
The Caol Ila 18-year-old Jazz Edition 2025, The Guitarist however, is being limited to a mere 948 bottles for $340 per bottle.
