Elixir Hits The Trail With New Series
London-based Elixir Distillers has released The Elixir Trails series – focusing on worldwide distilleries – and consisting of The Whisky Trail and The Rum Trail, for the first iteration of the series [but with plans to expand into other spirit categories at a later date].
The Whisky Trail portion of the series showcases a quartet of whiskies – a 2020 four-year-old malted rye whisky from Denmark; White Peak 2018 seven-year-old English single malt whisky; Chichibu 2014 10-year-old Japanese single malt whisky finished for six years in IPA casks and an eight-year-old American single malt whisky from Seattle-based Westland Distillery – all whiskies are offered at cask strength [all four beyond 50% alcohol by volume – 100 proof].
Elixir Distillers is an independent bottler whose portfolio also includes Elements of Islay, Port Askaig, and Highland Nectar but also owns a pair of Scotch whisky distilleries [Tormore and Portintruan].
