Glover’s Scottish Samurai Whisky Released
In what is the first collaboration between the historically dominant Scottish whisky culture and the more recently dominant Japanese whisky culture, Adelphi and Hanyu distilleries have produced what they call The Glover blended whisky. The Glover is named after Thomas Glover, who was dubbed as the Scottish Samurai for his help in the modernization process of Japan in the 19th century. The Glover is a blend of whisky from the now-closed [in 2000] Hanyu Distillery and whisky from Aberdeen’s Adelphi Distillery as well as a tad from the Glen Garioch Distillery.
The Glover will be available in two varieties – a not-so-premium edition for $150 per bottle and an ultra-premium edition for $1500 per bottle beginning in November 2015.
