Heaven Hill Purchases Black Velvet
Many of your poor decisions made in college [or, who knows, high school] may have been fueled by an overindulgence in Black Velvet and an era comes to an end as BV owner – Canada-based Constellation Brands – has sold BV to Kentucky-based Heaven Hill for the proverbial undisclosed amount. The transaction also includes a division of Canadian whisky brands MacNaughton and McMasters.
Constellation said net sales from Black Velvet and the other brands included in the transaction made their company $67 million in its 2019 fiscal year.
According to new owners, Heaven Hill, Black Velvet is the second best-selling Canadian whisky in the world, with Black Velvet selling nearly two million cases in the USA last year.
