Heaven Hill Rolls Out Chinquapin Barrels
Kentucky-based Heaven Hill Distillery is rolling out the Chinquapin barrels as they release a trio of whiskies in their Grain to Glass Specialty Barrel Series matured in barrels made of the distinctive American white oak species that are native to Central and Eastern North America.
The inaugural Heaven Hill Grain to Glass Specialty Barrel Series will feature Kentucky Straight Bourbon [mashbill of 52% corn, 35% rye, and 13% malt], Wheat Whiskey [using the same mashbill ratios but with wheat instead of rye] and Straight Rye [mashbill of 63% rye, 24% corn, and 13% malt].
Both the Straight Bourbon and Wheat Whiskey are bottled at 50.25% alcohol by volume [100.5 proof] while the Straight Rye is bottled at a precise 50.34% [100.68 proof] with all three said to contain notes of butterscotch, chocolate, crème brûlée and coffee.
The 2025 Heaven Hill Grain to Glass Specialty Barrel Series is being made available in the USA beginning in November 2025 for $130.
