Highland Park Gets Pole Position On Two New Whiskies
Highland Park has released two new whiskies – Saltire Edition 1 and Saltire Edition 2 – in a partnership with former Formula One race driver, David Coulthard.
Both Highland Park Saltire Edition 1 and Saltire Edition 2 have been aged for 13 years – a subtle reference to Coulthard’s 13 Grand Prix victories – in sherry-seasoned casks, with being bottled at 43% alcohol by volume [86 proof]. Saltire Edition 1 is said to contain notes of ginger, lemon and vanilla while Saltire Edition 2 is slightly different and is said to contain notes of cinnamon, ginger and vanilla.
Only 734 bottles of Highland Park Saltire Edition 1 are being offered for sale for $183 per bottle [on the Highland Park official website] while Highland Park Saltire Edition 2 is being made available for $73 per bottle. A percentage of proceeds from the sales of both whiskies will go towards supporting charities in Dumfries, Scotland.
