Isle of Harris Distillery to Launch First Single Malt Whisky
The Isle of Harris Distillery is ready to roll out its first single malt whisky this September. Dubbed the Haerach, the drink honors the Island people of the Hebridean island.
According to details, the distillery opened its doors in 2015 on one of the small outer islands called Taberet. At that point, it launched its famous flagship drink, the Harris Gin.
During its short stint on the island, Harris Distillery has captured the heart of the small country. It provides employment to more than fifty of its residents while laboring with the rest to increase tourism projects. There are about 2,000 people living here who have fondly called the whisky producer, ‘the social distillery’.
Hearach Single Malt Whisky Launch
The single malt whisky will become the first in the Isle of Harris portfolio and it is holding a special launch. The Hearach will be presented to the whisky community through a festive ceremony from the distillery’s website. The live program will stream on September 22 at 14:30 GMT.
According to a website briefing, the new spirit will become available in the UK starting September 23, 2023. Fans will be able to acquire the expression from their favorite store.
In addition, Isle of Harris Distillery has partnered with Alba Import to coordinate distribution throughout Europe. A spokesperson from the company explained that the initial deliveries would open in the German and Austrian markets. The Hearach whisky will become available on October 9, 2023.
Corinna Schwarz, Managing Director of Alba Import, says: “We are happy to finally introduce the first single malt from Isle of Harris Distillery. For us, after Wolfburn, Kingsbarns, and Clydeside Distillery, it is the fourth whisky distillery within a few years that we can accompany on its first release. THE HEARACH is an excellent addition to our portfolio as a heavy island malt and Isle of Harris Distillery truly deserves the attribute `Vibrant Stills`.”
Isle of Harris Distillery was founded by Anderson Bakewell in 2015. The company is run by a board chaired by Bakewell.
