Isle Of Raasay Honors Scottish Makar With Malt
The Isle of Raasay distillery has released a single cask malt whisky in honor of Scottish national poet [makar] Jackie Kay, who will leave her position as the national poet after holding it since 2016.
The Isle of Raasay distillery’s Makar’s Malt whisky was bottled at 53.2% alcohol by volume [106.4 proof] and features a poem [“Here’s Tae Ye!”] by Kay on the label.
Only 375 bottles of The Isle of Raasay’s Makar’s Malt is being made available for $105 per 700ml bottle with 10% from the sale of each bottle being donated to Glasgow Women’s Library.
