Jim Beam Tackles Seven Stages Of Defeat
Jim Beam is preparing themselves to be the bourbon or whiskey shoulders upon which American football fans can cry on when their teams lose in the National Football League playoffs [Minnesota Vikings fans are already candidates] by offering condolences via a “7 Stages of Defeat” video, starring actor Keegan-Michael Key [a devoted Detroit Lions fan] focusing on what fans experience when their beloved team loses – shock, denial, anger, bargaining, woe, rebuilding and acceptance.
The “7 Stages of Defeat Care Package” contains items to combat each of the stages, such as a Jim Beam jersey to “pay tribute to the loss in style”; a chocolate football on which “fans can take out their anger, then eat;” a bobblehead referee to bargain with; an aromatherapy candle to soothe their woes – and, of course, Jim Beam and cocktail fixings to help them to rebuild and accept.
Key, who, as a Lions fan, has experienced many of the aforementioned feelings of loss, is featured going through each of the “Stages of Defeat”.
The video is currently scheduled to debut on January 18, 2025, and the limited edition care package is only available to customers on a first-come, first-serve basis after key playoff moments at https://7stages.jimbeam.com. The kits will be available online to fans 21+ following the Divisional playoffs on January 20, 2025; following the Conference Championships on January 27, 2025, and, of course, following the Super Bowl on February 10, 2025.
