The Singleton Triples Down On Dessert Whiskies
The Singleton has released The Singleton Gourmand, a trio of 42-year-old Glen Ord single malt Scotch whiskies inspired by desserts and designed to mimic the flavors of desserts.
The first, Notes of Fig & Chocolate Ganache, has enjoyed a second maturation in new and bodega-treated European oak casks combined with heavily-toasted Priorat wine casks, was bottled at 46.8% alcohol by volume [93.6 proof] and is said to impart notes of dark chocolate, fig and espresso.
The second, Notes of Caramelised Crème Brûlée, has been matured in both new European and American oak barrels, along with an extra session in in ex-Grand Cru casks, bottled at 45.3% alcohol by volume [90.6 proof] and is said to impart notes of coconut, toffee, and crème brûlée.
The third, Notes of Black Cherry Gâteau, has matured in both American oak barrels and a European oak cask was finished in an ex-Amarone cask, bottled at 45.5% alcohol by volume [91 proof] and is said to impart notes of coconut, black cherries and cinnamon.
All three single malts in The Singleton Gourmand collection are being made available worldwide for $9000 per 500ml bottle sets – however – only 136 sets are being offered.
