Maclean Rows Out 34-Year-Old Whisky
The Maclean Foundation – a charitable foundation – has released a Speyside-based 34-year-old Auchroisk whisky, celebrating the world record-setting row across the Pacific Ocean of Jamie, Ewan and Lachlan Maclean.
The Maclean brothers began their journey in Lima, Peru, and rowed 9,750 miles before arriving at Cairns, Australia, on August 30, 2025 – completing the trip in the new world record time of 139 days [for the fastest human-powered crossing of the Pacific Ocean].
The Maclean Foundation is founded by Charles Maclean – the father of the brothers – and proceeds from the whisky’s release are intended to support clean water projects for more than 40,000 people in Madagascar. It is claimed that every bottle sold will also provide clean water for life to at least one person in Madagascar.
The 34-year-old Auchroisk single malt whisky was matured in a virgin oak cask and bottled at 44.5% alcohol by volume [89 proof] with the cask being donated by Diageo, owner of the Auchroisk distillery.
Only 248 bottles of Auchroisk 34-year-old are being made available for $460 per bottle.
