Michelob Reviving Miracle For 2026 Winter Olympics
Michelob Ultra – the official sponsor of Team USA – is reviving USA’s 1980 hockey victory over the Soviet Union [dubbed the “Miracle on Ice”] for the upcoming 2026 Milan Winter Olympics.
Michelob Ultra has announced “Run Back the Miracle” – an “immersive throwback event” that aims to re-create the “Miracle on Ice” game from the Lake Placid 1980 Olympic Winter Games in New York where a clearly overmatched youth-laden U.S. men’s ice hockey team somehow defeated the heavily-favored Soviet Union in a major upset that allowed the USA to advance to the gold medal game where they then defeated Finland in another upset to finish off the “miracle”.
The one-day event is currently scheduled to be held on January 15, 2026, at Herb Brooks Arena [named after the USA’s head coach at the time] in Lake Placid will include “high-definition holograms, full-surface ice projection, archival items and never-before-seen footage to recreate key moments” from the game. Additionally, original members of the 1980 U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Team will also be in attendance.
Michelob Ultra became a Team USA beer sponsor for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris 2024, is also the sponsor of USA Hockey and will also sponsor this year’s Olympics Closing Ceremony.
