National Geographic Showcases Heineken H41 Wild Lager
National Geographic joined with Heineken to showcase the yeast used in their H41 Wild Lager.
National Geographic’s film crews traveled to Patagonia with Argentine biologist Diego Libkind and Heineken’s global master brewer, Willem van Waesberghe to re-create Libkind’s discovery of the yeast that turned out to be the mother of the yeast that’s been used to produce Heineken for 130 years and, subsequently, the H41 Lager. (H for Heineken – of course – and 41 for the 41 degrees south longitudinal coordinate of the Patagonian forest.)
