Old Forester Releases Two Versions Of Birthday Bourbon
In honor of the total eclipse [not really], Old Forester has announced the release of their 17th annual Old Forester Birthday Bourbon – in honor of founder George Garvin Brown.
The 2017 Old Forester Birthday Bourbon was drawn from a wide variety of barrels stored in different company floors and warehouses – each contributing their unique elements to the final product. However, during the transfer of bourbon from the holding tank to the bottling line, alcohol vapors were lost during bottling, causing a small drop in the proof. As a result, there will be two versions of the 2017 Old Forester Birthday Bourbon – one at 96 proof [48% alcohol by volume] and one at 95.4 proof [47.7% alcohol by volume] – with Florida and Georgia receiving the 95.4-proof versions, Kentucky receiving both versions and all remaining USA states receiving the 96-proof versions.
The 2017 Old Forester Birthday Bourbon will be available for $80 beginning in September 2017.
