Prohibition Began 100 Years Ago – Have Some Remus Volstead Bourbon To Celebrate Its Demise
It has only been 100 years since Prohibition began – and was repealed 14 years later – in the USA. To celebrate Prohibition’s demise, there is a limited edition Bourbon – Remus Volstead Reserve Straight Bourbon Whiskey – from the MGP distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
Remus Volstead Reserve is simultaneously named after bootlegger George Remus and the Volstead Act [as Prohibition was called informally]. Remus Volstead Reserve is made from MGP’s 14-year aged reserves, bottled at 50% alcohol by volume [100 proof] and is said to contain notes of caramelized pecans, cherry, oak and spices.
Remus Volstead Reserve is being made available for $200 per 750ml bottle beginning in November 2019.
