Put On Your Blue Suede Shoes Because Elvis Has A Pair Of Whiskies
South Carolina-based Grain & Barrel Spirits signed a licensing agreement with Elvis Presley Enterprises and created a pair of whiskies – one for each of your blue suede shoes – to pay homage to the late rock’n roll pioneering musician, Elvis Presley.
Elvis Rye is a Indiana straight rye, bottled in Tennessee at 45% alcohol by volume [90 proof] and is said to contain notes of butterscotch, citrus, pepper and vanilla wafers.
Plain ‘ol Elvis Whiskey is a Tennessee straight whiskey, also bottled in Tennessee at 45% alcohol by volume [90 proof] and is said to contain notes of caramel, citrus, crème brûlée, Granny Smith apple, maple and sweet corn but, alas, not Elvis’ favorite – peanut butter.
Both whiskies are being made available for $50 per bottle via the elviswhiskey.com website.
Both bottles feature a photo of Presley on their labels, as well as details referencing the singer – for instance, the letters ‘TCB’, referencing his motto ‘taking care of business’, are printed on each bottle’s neck.
