Rupert’s Exceptional Whisky brand Nabs Platinum Award
According to a press release, Eau Claire Distillery received a platinum medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The award was accredited to its Rupert’s Exceptional Whisky brand. It is the first Canadian distillery to receive the award.
“To be recognized as the first Canadian distillery to achieve platinum status… This is an incredible honor and a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence,” said David Farran, founder and president at Eau Claire Distillery.
“Most distilleries strive for years to achieve this level of recognition. And we are proud to have reached this milestone on our 10th anniversary.”
As a double gold medal winner, the whisky was awarded this honor after taking home that honor for the third consecutive year. The Tasting Alliance, which runs the competition, awards double gold medals after every judging panel member awards a gold medal to the spirit.
“These are among the finest products in the world,” the alliance said on its website. The gold medals are awarded to “exceptional spirits that are near the pinnacle of achievement.”

According to the brand, the industry expert in alcohol import helps it to introduce the spirit to a wider audience of whisky enthusiasts in America. The distillery is collaborating with distribution partners in order to expand its presence in the American market.
Notably, the SFWSC is a leading contest for spirits around the globe. The 2024 SFWSC took place from April 5 to 7. Winning a medal at the annual competition is every distillery’s dream.
