Sea Cider Bittersweet Claims 2018 Portland International Cider Cup
Sea Cider Farm and Ciderhouse’s Bittersweet cider was the official winner of the sixth annual Portland International Cider Cup [PICC]. Sea Cider’s Bittersweet fended off nearly 170 ciders from the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia, Canada to claim Best in Show from the 60 cider judges.
It was the first time in the six-year history of the PICC that a cider from British Columbia took home the Best of Show Award and received the coveted Cider Cup.
Sea Cider Bittersweet is 7.2% alcohol by volume using their namesake bittersweet apples [specifically, Dabinetts and Yarlington Mills] which are 100% estate grown, pressed, fermented and bottled at Sea Cider Farm and Ciderhouse. Sea Cider’s Bittersweet cider is similar to a traditional English cider with a typical high tannin/low acid profile that creates an off-dry result in taste.
