SMWS new flavor finder
The Scotch Malt Whisky Society has launched a rather intriguing new website function. It has several games/techniques, all of which can be used to find your perfect drink, based on various criteria. For example, you could find the drink that best suits your personality by choosing from a list of traits such as adventurous, controlling, extrovert, etc., and the site will bring back a list of three whisky’s that should suit your personality (my best match was Continental Brunch, cask 44.44, which I shall have to try at some point). Other functions include the Moodbot, which suggests a whisky based on your current state of mind (Very Tasty Danish Pastry, cask 121.37, should suit me at the moment), and the flavor board, where you choose a flavor (smoky, sweet, chocolate, honey, and so on) that intrigues you and a suggestion is made as to which whisky best represents that flavor.
Unfortunately, the database only contains Scotch Malt Whisky Society whiskies, but then that was to be expected. The aesthetic appeal of the site along with its functionality makes it well worth a visit!

I guess other whisky brands could not compete when it comes to the ever-changing variety of tastes, flavours and aromas The Scotch Malt Whisky Society offers. So these little widgets would only ever offer a limited number of ‘expressions’
