That Boutique-y Whisky Company Has Five New Whiskies
UK-based independent bottler That Boutique-y Whisky Company (TBWC) has launched five limited edition whiskies ranging in age from nine years to a 33-year-old single grain from the Dumbarton Distillery.
The nine-year-old single malt originates from Glen Elgin Distillery, was matured in a Pedro Ximénez sherry cask and offers notes of apple, raisins and toffee. Only 438 bottles are being made available for $65 per bottle.
The Islay-themed 13-year-old single malt comes from Caol Ila Distillery, was finished for two years in an ex-American rye barrel, offers notes of almond, oak and, of course, being an Islay-sourced spirit, smoke. Only 327 bottles are being made available for $95 per bottle.
A 22-year-old is an Irish single malt from Bushmills The only Irish single malt finished in an ex-Maury wine cask and offering notes of caramel, mango and milk chocolate. Only 390 bottles are being made available for $335 per bottle.
The 27-year-old single malt is from Glen Garioch, was matured in a single refill ex-sherry butt, offering notes of dark chocolate, fi and papaya. Only 198 bottles are being made available for $270 per bottle.
The final piece of the quintet is also the oldest – a 33-year-old single grain whisky from Dumbarton Distillery, matured in a refill hogshead and said to be offering notes of coconut, pineapple and vanilla wafers. Only 242 bottles are being made available for $170 per bottle.
