That Boutique-y Whisky Company Trials Trio Of Whiskies
Just in time for the Kentucky Derby, UK-based independent bottler That Boutique-y Whisky Company has released three whiskies – an eight-year-old English rye, a 10-year-old Kentucky Bourbon and a 21-year-old Irish whiskey – to join their core range of one Canadian corn and four Scotch whiskies.
All three were bottled at 45.8% alcohol by volume [91.6 proof] and are each being offered in in small batches of around 1,000 700ml bottles.
That Boutique-y Whisky eight-year-old English Rye was distilled from a high-rye mash bill, matured in toasted French oak casks and adds English single malt matured in ex-Islay casks with a label featuring the English Longhorn Cattle and being made available for $60 per bottle.
For this weekend’s Kentucky Derby celebrations and mint julep concoctions, there is That Boutique-y Company’s 10-year-old ‘classic’ Kentucky straight bourbon made with a 77% corn mash bill, matured in deeply charred American oak and being made available for $80 per bottle. Rather than a Kentucky-bred thoroughbred though, its label features the once-plentiful North American Bison, the continent’s largest land mammal.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company’s 21-year-old Irish whiskey was matured in ex-bourbon as well as Oloroso sherry casks, touting a label featuring the Connemara Pony and is being made available for $135 per bottle.
