The English Distillery Releases V-E Day Commemorative Whisky
The English Distillery, has collaborated with the charity Walking with the Wounded (WWTW) to launch a single malt whisky to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day [Victory in Europe Day, originally celebrated on May 8, 1945 to celebrate the formal end of World War Two in Europe following Germany’s surrender the previous day].
The English Distillery V-E Day single malt whisky was matured in both ex-bourbon and virgin oak casks, bottled at 46% alcohol by volume [92 proof] and is said to impart notes of banana, pears and toffee.
Only a mere 3,000 bottles of The English Distillery V-E Day single malt whisky are being made available for $85 per bottle – with some of that price donated directly to WWTW – from the official distillery website.
