The Flaming Lips Go To Brainville For Their Whiskey
Chicago-based alternative rock band, The Flaming Lips, have become the latest musical group to jump on the personalized whiskey wagon by releasing a whiskey blend in collaboration with Few Spirits called “Brainville Rye Whiskey.” The whiskey blend is a mixture of rye, corn and malted barley grown within 150 miles of Few’s distillery in Evanston, Illinois, and is bottled at 40% alcohol by volume [80-proof].
Brainville Rye was aged in charred, new American oak barrels and is said to have notes of apple and pear but Flaming Lips lead singer Wayne Coyne begs to differ, suggesting the whiskey may turn you into a beast….
“Whiskey… it’s such a volatile drink. Upon pouring a drink It’s like accepting that you may become a werewolf … And really… Who doesn’t want to become a werewolf ???”
Only 5000 bottles of Brainville Rye Whiskey will be available for $125 per bottle beginning in October 2016.
