The GlenDronach Distillery Reveals 50-Year-Old
Highland-based The GlenDronach Distillery has released a 50-year-old single malt whisky – their oldest to date.
The GlenDronach Aged 50 Years was matured in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks from Spain’s Jerez bodegas in Andalucía, then combined and placed into a single Pedro Ximénez cask before being bottled at 43% alcohol by volume [86 proof] and is said to contain notes of black cherry, dark chocolate, espresso and plum.
Only 198 bottles of The GlenDronach Aged 50 Years are being made available for $27,240 each after the first bottle of The GlenDronach Aged 50 Years was donated to an auction in December 2021, and raised $54,490 to support disadvantaged young people in Scotland.
