The St. Patrick’s Day Alternative To Guinness – Innis & Gunn
St. Patrick’s Day is next week and if beer is your drink of choice on the day when everybody is Irish, then soon you will find yourself inundated in everything Guinness wherever you go. That is not necessarily a bad thing but if you would like to consider alternatives to the popular Guinness, you could do worse than Innis & Gunn’s Irish Whiskey Stout, released especially for St. Patrick’s Day.
Once Innis & Gunn’s Irish Whiskey Stout’s Scottish malts have been used to create the stout, the stout is then aged in oak chips [due to the scarcity of oak barrels not being used by whisky distilleries] which had been previously soaked in Irish whiskey. The result is a honey-and-vanilla 7.4% alcohol contented stout which is available, unfortunately, in only limited locations worldwide.
