WhistlePig Produces RoadStock And Limavady
Vermont-based WhistlePig has been busy in 2021 – not only do they have their new limited-edition RoadStock Rye Whiskey ready to roll, but they also have a new collaboration with Limavady, to revive the old Irish whiskey stalwart brand.
WhistlePig RoadStock Rye is the end result of a cross-country journey where barrels of whiskey were sent – via an 18-wheeler rig – to California for finishing before returning home to Vermont [but saving enough to fuel a Dodge Hellcat escort car].
WhistlePig RoadStock Rye was finished in both Bordeaux wine casks from Jordan Winery as well as ale barrels from Firestone Walker Brewing before being bottled at 43% alcohol by volume [86 proof] and is said to contain notes of brown sugar, cedar and raspberry jam.
WhistlePig RoadStock Rye is being made available for $73 per 750ml bottle.
Meanwhile, Limavady – claiming to being one of Ireland’s oldest whiskies [1705] – is entering into a collaboration with WhistlePig to produce single barrel Irish whiskey.
WhistlePig’s Limavady Single Barrel Irish Whiskey is being made available in Northern Ireland, the UK and USA in August 2021 for $50 per 700ml bottle.
As if that was not enough, WhistlePig has also collaborated with Australian-produced Mr. Black Coffee Liquor – a combination of cold-brewed Arabica coffee with Australian wheat vodka – to produce 2,400 bottles of Mr Black x WhistlePig Barrel Aged Coffee Liquor, a limited edition being made available in the USA for $60 per 750 ml bottle.
