Ardbeg Produces 13-Year-Old Fermutation
Islay distillery Ardbeg has released Fermutation – a 13-year-old whisky fermented for three weeks due to an unplanned boiler malfunction – making it the longest fermentation in Ardbeg’s history [most Ardbeg whisky is fermented for only 72 hours].
The limited edition bottling will launch on 1 February, and has been fermented for three weeks due to an ‘unplanned experiment’.
Ardbeg Fermutation is said to contain floral notes along with malt, peat and smoke.
Ardbeg Fermutation is being made available beginning in February 2022 to members of the distillery’s The Ardbeg Committee club $205 per bottle.
