Ardbeg Travels To Napa Valley For Smoketrails

Islay-based Ardbeg Distillery has traveled to California’s famed Napa Valley and released the third edition of their Smoketrails series, partially aged in red wine casks from Napa Valley as an addition to their Travel Series for global travel retail venues.

Ardbeg is, of course, known for their peat-heavy whiskies and their Smoketrails Napa Valley is the distillery’s first release combining ex-bourbon barrels with ex-Cabernet Sauvignon red wine casks from California’s Napa Valley, which was then bottled at 46% alcohol by volume [92 proof] and is said to impart notes of eucalyptus, jasmine and rose water.

Ardbeg Smoketrails Napa Valley Edition is being made available at the distillery’s visitor center in Islay and worldwide in select international airports for $85 per bottle.
