El Sid Set To Open In Washington State
El Sid – a bar inspired by Sid Vicious, bassist for the UK punk rock pioneering band The Sex Pistols – is set to open on August 9, 2025, in Everett, Washington, a northern suburb of Seattle. Vicious died of a heroin overdose in 1979. El Sid will offer coffee by day and ‘punk rock-inspired’ cocktails by night.
Examples of some of the cocktails being offered will be “London Calling” named after a song by UK punk band The Clash which blends City of London Gin, lemon, strawberry, and soda, an “Astro Zombie” – named after a song by The Misfits – which is essentially the normal Zombie cocktail but with spiced rum and, of course, “The Vicious”, a ‘blood-red’ whiskey cocktail ‘with a bitter edge’ inspired by “El Sid” himself.
El Sid – which may or may not be an alternative reference to the famous Los Angeles flamenco club [El Cid] or the similarly-named 1961 feature film starring Charlton Heston – will open alongside the third annual Preserve the Kulture event, which celebrates urban art, music, and community in Everett.
