International Martini Day Arrives On Saturday
It is a triple holiday weekend approaching as first, Juneteenth arrives on Friday, followed closely by International Martini Day on Saturday – leading, predictably, to many a happy hour Espresso Martini being poured on that day while people enjopy themselves during the third holiday – watching 2026 World Cup matches.
Juneteenth celebrates the day – June 19 – in 1865 when slavery officially ended in the United States of America as troops arrived in Texas to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation [which had been decreed two years earlier].
People may still be celebrating by Saturday when International Martini Day arrives and the 142nd anniversary of the cocktail’s creation is being celebrated by a number of high profile spirit producers around the world including, of course, the Martini Italian aperitivo brand, which named their Martini Man – British actor, Jonathan Bailey [“Bridgerton”] for the occasion. Bailey is the second official Martini Man and succeeds George Clooney.
The new Martini promotional campaign also includes a nod to the famous, iconic 1970s Martini Racing team car.
