Aarrrgh – New Blended Scotch Whisky Dunadd
Although the actual Castle Aaarrrggghhh from “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” was the much newer [13th century] Doune Castle – it bears a spittin’ image to Dunadd Castle [first century], the castle depicted on the label of Dunadd, the newest blended Scotch Whisky brand emerging from Scotland. Dunadd is named for the medieval site where Scottish kings were likely crowned and the new blended whiskies will be a three-year-old [40% alcohol content/80 proof/$21] and a 12-year-old [40% alcohol content/80 proof/$49].
Both varieties of Dunadd are expected to be available beginning in February 2014.

We bought 2 bottles each of Dunadd during Christmas 2013 in France and had tasted with friends from France, UK, Ireland, Spain, Japan, Germany, Poland, USA and Denmark. We found the 3 years old very smooth and easy to drink whisky particularly good for young Scotch whiskies lover. One of its particularity is that it does not cause headache next day unlike other some other 3 years old.
The 12 years old was indeed a premium blended Scotch, its antic & vanilla notes finished make the 12 years old very good Scotch. Due to their quality, we bought more for new years eve in France. We all agreed to recommend Dunadd to many Scotch lovers and we also think the whiskies deserve to bear such a powerful name "Dunadd".

By the way, I think the Dunadd whiskies were launched in France by Auchan Group, where we have bought them. i have no clue whether they are available in UK or not or any other markets.
