Bankhall Whisky Rolls Out Cigar Malt
Bankhall Distillery was established in 2019. Having released Bankhall Rye Rebellion and Sweet Mash, Bankhall Distillery has now released its first single malt whisky. It uses traditional whisky making processes of the UK together with inspiration from US distilleries
With a cask strength of 57.7%, the young whisky is a single barrel expression that has been aged in level four charred new American oak casks. Flavors include orange marzipan, vanilla bean, cinnamon, marzipan, and toasted oak.
Vince Oleson, master distiller at Bankhall, commented: “Bankhall is honored and proud to finally have a single malt whisky.
Bankhall Whisky Rolls Out Cigar Malt
“This three-year-old English single malt was the first spirit to flow through our budding distillery back in April of 2020. It’s an expression that’s bold from the punch of the barrel and balanced from our elegant triple pot distilled creamy new make, and we’re extremely happy with the result.”
Featuring charred new American oak barrels, the young whisky has been bottled at a cask strength of 57.7%. The expression boasts flavors such as orange marmalade, vanilla bean, cinnamon, marzipan, and toasty oak.
Oleson added: “With just 235 bottles of this limited release launching into the market, we don’t anticipate it’ll be around for long, but it certainly marks the beginning of a massively exciting new stage of the journey for our Bankhall English whisky”.
Each of the estimated 235 bottles will be hand-numbered and available at select specialty retailers and directly from Bankhall Distillery.
Bankhall Whisky is a brand of Halewood Artisanal Spirits. Mixtures are created by master blender Jillian Boyd from whiskies sourced from Halewood Artisanal Spirits’ three distilleries.
Boyd joined Halewood in September 2023, having previously worked at whisky blending house Compass Box. Speaking on her appointment, at the time Boyd commented:
“I am so excited to be joining the Halewood business. They have such an incredible line up of emerging whisky brands from all over the UK, and a commitment to producing new and innovative whiskies and blends.”
