Bon Voyage! – Jefferson’s Sends Its Bourbon Out For A Sea Cruise
Jefferson’s Bourbon has sent their bourbon out to sea before and now they are sending more of their bourbon on a sea cruise – this time in a collaboration with the cruise line Holland America as the latest sea journey in their Ocean Aged at Sea series.
For the Holland America sea cruise, a single barrel of Jefferson’s Bourbon will spend a minimum of six months being aged at sea amongst 11 ships in the cruise liner’s fleet. The barrels have already begun their sea journey, having been loaded on the ships earlier this month with all ships expected to carry their own barrel by the end of April 2026.
After the sea cruise is completed in six months time, each barrel will be individually bottled, resulting in approximately 150-300 bottles per barrel which are then expected to be made available in 2027 exclusively for Holland America guests.
Although bourbon has been taken out to sea as part of Jefferson’s Ocean Aged at Sea Voyage series before, all those sea trips were made on cargo and fishing boats and ships – the collaboration with Holland America will be Jefferson’s Bourbon’s first voyage with a cruise liner for the series.
