Bowmore Reveals Latest Aston Martin Whisky Collaboration
Islay-based distillery Bowmore has released ARC-54, their second – and last – whisky in their ARC series collaboration with luxury automobile maker Aston Martin.
Bowmore ARC-54 is a 54-year-old whisky distilled in November 1968 and presented in a handblown crystal decanter inspired by the design of Aston Martin’s Valkyrie hypercar.
Bowmore ARC-54 was matured in both second-fill European oak sherry butts and third-fill American oak hogshead casks, with 61.8% European oak-aged spirit and 38.2% American oak-aged spirit result that were then combined for 15 months before being bottled at 44.3% alcohol by volume [88.6 proof] and is said to impart notes of butterscotch, mango and vanilla with a peat smoke finish.
Only 130 decanters of Bowmore ARC-54 are being made available worldwide for $93,340 per decanter.
