Buffalo Trace Rolls Out Antique Collection 2023
In autumn, some of the country’s most respected spirits producers release limited-edition blends. The Buffalo Trace Antique Collection is one such release. It’s no secret that Buffalo Trace has been around for a long time, founded in 1869. The Antique Collection is important in making Buffalo Trace Distillery a renowned whiskey maker.
This brand of spirits was launched in 2000 as a showcase of historic brands with full flavors and high proof points. The collection includes five bottles of whisky. Since 2006, the total number of bottlings has been sold out shortly after release.

This year’s batch features three bourbons, two ryes, and one 17-year-old Eagle Rare, infused with a bouquet of dark chocolate on the palate. It is not surprising that the demand for the collection continues to grow.
Another winner of this year’s batch is the inclusion of one of the original expressions. The distillery is releasing its oldest Eagle Rare since it was introduced 23 years ago. There is also a high-proof William Larue Weller bottled at 133.6 proof.
In addition, the lineup also boasts a George T. Stagg. The spirit is bottled at 135 proof and has cinnamon flavors, tongue-tingling spice, and a cherry-chomping finish.
Alongside the display, is the duo includes a 90-proof Sazerac Kentucky Straight with hints of clove and dried tobacco leaf. The Thomas H. Handy stands out for its warm aromas and heavy body that belies its 62.45% alcohol content. Aficionados will probably prefer this one over the other.
A total of five expressions will be available at retail outlets across the country later in the month. They will each cost $125 per 750ml bottle.
The Buffalo Trace Distillery is a distillery located in Frankfort, Kentucky, owned by the Sazerac Company. It has been known by several names, including George T. Stagg Distillery and Old Fashioned Copper Distillery.
