Bushmills Unveils Causeway Collection
Irish whiskey giant Bushmills has released their new Causeway Collection – a collection of 10 cask-finished single malt whiskies – with the name being a reference to the Giant’s Causeway, a large formation of hexagonal rocks in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.
Bushmills’ Causeway Collection includes single malt whiskies finished in new American oak, cognac, wine and fortified wine casks as well as the 2001 Feuillette Cask, a single malt that was aged for more than 17 years in Oloroso sherry butts and bourbon barrels before being matured for two years in a rare Burgundy cask – one of four feuillette casks at the Bushmills distillery.
Bushmills’ Causeway Collection Feuillette Cask whiskey was bottled at 49% alcohol by volume [98 proof] and is said to contain notes of cherries and plum.
All whiskies in Bushmills’ Causeway Collection are being made available in China, France, Germany Portugal and the UK while only 168 bottles of the 2001 Feuillette Cask are being made available in the UK beginning on December 7, exclusively from The Whisky Shop, for $265 per 700ml bottle.
