Connacht Introduces Irish Whiskey Single Malt
The Connacht Distillery has released their first Irish whiskey – Connacht Single Malt Irish Whiskey – from their distillery which was finished six years ago.
Connacht Single Malt Irish Whiskey was made using 100% malted Irish barley, double distilled in Canadian-made copper pot stills, then aged in ex-bourbon barrels and finished in ex-Oloroso sherry casks before being bottled at 47% alcohol by volume [94 proof] and is said to contain notes of almond, raisins, star anise and vanilla.
Connacht Single Malt Irish Whiskey is being made available for $75 per 700ml bottle from The Connacht Distillery website and select retailers in Ireland but is also scheduled to be released in France, Germany and the USA.
