Food And Wine Classic Launches Its Own App
It’s become the rule du jour in today’s modern age for any organization or business to have its own social media presence. God a small business repairing bikes? Give it its own Facebook account (even though judging from the site’s original purpose, that makes no sense). Own a chain of cafe shops? They gotta be on Tumblr. Heck, we’re at the point where McDonalds is probably on Tinder. I haven’t checked, but they are very probably on Tinder, posting pictures of greasy food with captions like “Swipe right if you love fries!”
In order to stand out NOW, an organization needs something special. Hence the Food And Wine Classic in Aspen launching its own app during the event last week.
With the Food And Wine Classic App, attendees of the festival could customize their own schedules, tag activities they didn’t want to miss, and make reservations at nearby restaurants in Aspen. And with the app still in most of their phones, they’ll be sure to remember to come back next year.
Now that Food And Wine Classic has raised the bar, will other events follow suit, and after then, more organizations? For those who didn’t want to bother with the app, there was always the #fwclassic Twitter hashtag.
