Hollywood Distillery Prepares To Deck The Halls
The newly opened Hollywood Distillery in Hollywood – of course – is preparing to help people celebrate the holiday season for the first time ever as a stand-alone distillery operation after opening in early October 2025.
The company – led by founders Larry Neuberg, Ferris Wehbe and Jeff Zarrinnam – has actually been in operation since 2016, but this year is the first time the trio has enjoyed a dedicated space for distillation of their products, which boasts award-winning vodka, gin and bourbon [and soon to include rum and tequila] – and what a space it is, housed in a former mortuary in the near vicinity of the Hollywood cemetery [much better than a San Pedro warehouse].
The Hollywood Distillery has already produced award-winning vodka with their Oasis vodka winning Double Gold at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits competition and also enjoys a unique niche in the spirits industry as the only date-infused vodka [specifically, Medjool dates harvested from nearby California desert communities].
Since then, the Hollywood Distillery has expanded to include gin [Nopalera] and both bourbon [Zanja-Madre] and rye whiskey [Zanja-Madre] to their lineup with the gin boasting an array of botanicals to give it a light desert rain aroma and the bourbon producing a smoothness that belies its seven-year age.
The new Hollywood Distillery facility also leans heavily into the Hollywood film industry as its walls are adorned with Hollywood icons observing you as they are pictured enjoying libations either from behind the scenes moments or in scenes from famous films.
Tours and tastings are available for a mere $30 per person when the distillery is open to the public [Thursday through Sunday, 11am-7pm] and can accommodate up to 20 people per tour/tasting.
