“During his questioning, the accused disclosed the names of Shivam and Jaspal. Shivam is posted as a technical fitter in the factory while Jaspal is a former security guard of the factory. On the statement of Rajbir, both Shivam and Jaspal were also nabbed. The accused disclosed that the whisky was being smuggled from the distillery,”
The investigation followed after the men were arrested for the smuggling of blended scotch whisky by the Gharinda police of Amritsar-rural district. The Distiller is located Khasa-Amritsar region and is a unit of Digvijay Chemicals.
Furthermore, a joint investigation has been launched by the Punjab Police and the state excise department. The process goes forward, in order to investigate a case of the Khasa Distillery whisky theft. It is one of the most famous distilleries in Amritsar.
Officials also believe that the ring may be part of a larger smuggling group of illegal scotch whiskies. The center will continue its investigation and try to unearth further clues and group members. It is possible that more employers may be involved in the process, ranging from warehouse managers to local distributors.
