Nikka Rolls Out The Barrel

Japanese whiskymaker Nikka has released a an homage to their 1985-born square-bottled Nikka From the Barrel – a Nikka From the Barrel Extra Marriage, a blend of grain whisky from Nikka and malt whiskies from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries, and a trio gift set.

Nikka From the Barrel Extra Marriage is said to bestow notes of honey, nutmeg and pineapple.

Meanwhile Nikka’s limited edition gift set offers a trio of whiskies – the new Nikka From the Barrel Extra Marriage along with Malt Pieces of the Barrel and Grain Pieces of the Barrel – the duo that make up Nikka From the Barrel Extra Marriage.

Malt Pieces of the Barrel is said to offer notes of fruit, peat and smoke.

Grain Pieces of the Barrel, meanwhile, is said to offer notes of chili, fruit and the ubiquitous vanilla.

Nikka From The Barrel Extra Marriage is being made available for $65 per bottle while the Nikka From the Barrel Three Bottles Gift Set is being made available for $360 per set.
