Sazerac Auctions Rare Whiskies for Hurricane Victims

The American Red Cross is raising funds for disaster relief through an auction of some of Sazerac’s most valuable whiskies. Following Hurricanes Helene and Milton destroyed Western North Carolina and Florida in late September and October. Sazerac decided to help.

According to the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale, which determines the strength of hurricanes, Helene was a Category 4 storm- On the other hand, Milton converted into a Category 5.

Sazerac Company’s top distilleries are represented in the online auction, including Buffalo Trace Distillery, The Last Drop Distillers, Barton 1792 Distillery, and A. Smith Bowman Distillery.

“Our hearts go out to the families and communities affected by these devastating storms,” said Jake Wenz, CEO of Sazerac.

“Our goal is to help aid the Hurricanes Milton and Helene recovery efforts in cities and states most impacted by the storms. Every dollar raised will go directly to those in need. We thank the American Red Cross for everything they do.”

There are some impressive bottles up for auction, including Double Eagle Very Rare Kentucky Straight Bourbon. One special spirit is the Last Drop Release 33: 15th Anniversary 40-Year-Old Blended Scotch Whisky.
