The Whisky Exchange Set to Host Two New Spirit Shows
The Whisky Exchange will host two new spirit expos next year. The first show will debut on April 11-12, 2025, (Welcome to Whisky show), and a Tequila and Mezcal show will open on May 16-17, 2025. Both events will be held at Glaziers Hall, London, the same venue of the Whisky Exchange’s Cognac Show (22-23 March), Rum Show (5-6 July) and Champagne Show (15 November).
According to a report published by The Spirits Business, the UK retailer will continue its annual shows. During the weekend of September 6-8, 2024, The Whisky Exchange will roll out its annual Whisky Show at Old Billingsgate, London.
Notably, the Whisky Exchange currently runs a Tequila showcase that spans all three London shops for the month of April. The retailer will expand on this success with the new Tequila and Mezcal Show and will continue to capitalize on the month’s activation, which featured agave spirits.
Whisky Exchange will Inaugurate Two New Beverage Shows in 2025
The Whisky Exchange and its wholesale arm Speciality Drinks have seen tremendous growth in demand for Tequila, mezcal, and other agave spirits. Tequila and mezcal are still the fastest-growing categories online right now.
“I’m super excited about agave,” said Dawn Davies, buying director for The Whisky Exchange and Speciality Drinks. “I think it’s a category that is definitely one to explore. I think people are getting more interested and excited about it.”
In addition, the Welcome to Whisky show sets out to offer an introduction to the whisky category to entry-level consumers. Its strong focus on education and profiling will engender better whisky usage. Featuring core products from the category and the production process of whisky, the show will be a “beginner’s guide” to whisky.
Davies commented on the Welcome to Whisky show: “I’ve outgrown the Whisky Show. I feel in the market there used to be some really good shows that faded into the background that were for beginner whisky. We have to bring the next generation through and for me, it just seems completely obvious to do that.”
