Waterford Whisky Cuvée Concepts Enroute to the US
“The natural progression of our unique terroir mission was to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Grand Vins of Bordeaux or the Grande Marques of Champagne, and that is to create our flagship cuvées,” says Founder and CEO, Mark Reynier. “Our new creative Cuvée Concepts, where we layer together uniquely flavorsome Single Farm Origins, help us to great our most complex, expressive, and profound whiskies.”
According to a report by BevNet, there are three new Cuvée Concepts in the Waterford Whisky lineup, each adding to the distillery’s signature barley profile with artisanal bakery notes. These are entitled:
- Waterford Whisky
- Organic Waterford Whisky
- Peated Waterford Whisky.
Waterford‘s flagship whisky is “The Waterford Cuvée”, which features artwork and a label by Nathanael Koffi. The kit contains 24 Irish Single Farm Origins ranging from 6 to 10 years old.
In addition to white pepper, lemon zest, herbal, and sweet candy aromas, this whisky reveals notes of aniseed, spices, tobacco leaves, and summer fruits. The finish is long and dry, leaving a lasting impression of dried fruit and spices.
Known as the distillery’s innovative Organic Cuvée, “Cuvée Gaia” has notes of malted barley, dark berries, pineapple forest freshness, manuka honey, and a long-lasting, lingering finish.
This peated Cuvée dubbed the “Cuvée Fumo” features fresh peaty and coastal notes as well as a touch of sweetness. On the palate, it reveals an oily character with smoky notes; the finish is tobacco, green tea, and tar-like.
All of these upcoming Cuvées are bottled at 50% ABV and are free of artificial coloring and chill-filtration in keeping with the distillery’s commitment to authenticity and natural flavor.
