Midleton Very Rare Opens Second Chapter With 46-Year-Old
Irish Whiskey maker Midleton has released Midleton Very Rare Chapter Two – a 46-Year-Old whiskey – as the second part of their Silent Distillery Collection.
Midleton Very Rare Chapter Two is a 46-year-old single pot still Irish whiskey matured both bourbon and sherry casks for more than 20 years, then married and re-casked into refill bourbon casks, then re-casked into port pipes before finally finishing in a refill bourbon cask. Midleton Very Rare Chapter Two is said to contain notes of anise, ginger, hazelnut, malt and oak.
Only 70 bottles of Midleton Very Rare Chapter Two are being made available for $45,000 per decanter in France, Ireland, UK and USA.
