Laphroaig Reveals A Big Ocean
Laphroaig launched their An Cuan Mor – Gaelic for “The Big Ocean” – an Islay single malt Scotch whisky that will only be available in duty free shops around the world. An Cuan Mor is Laphroaig’s third in a series of Scotch whiskies released only to duty free shops – joining QA Cask in April 2013 and PX Cask in 2012. An Cuan Morn has been aged in an 18-year-old American white oak Bourbon barrel, then re-casked in European Oak casks, resulting in a fusion of spicy caramel notes from the American barrel and burnt apricot and raisin flavors from the Euro-cask.
Laphroaig An Cuan Mor is 96 proof [48% alcohol content] and will be available for $130 per 750ml bottle at duty free shops beginning in October 2013.
