Distell Brings Eight Single Malts To The Party
UK-based Distell has introduced eight single malts bottled from Distell’s three Scotch whisky distilleries – Bunnahabhain, Deanston and Tobermory.
The new bottlings include three from Tobermory Distillery, featuring a Tobermory 2007 Port Pipe Finish (55.8% alcohol by volume – 111.6 proof), aged in refill hogsheads before a final maturation in Port pipes for four years.
In addition, the distillery has two Ledaig bottlings: the Ledaig 1998 Marsala Finish (58.6% alcohol by volume – 117.2 proof), matured for 21 years including four years in Marsala wine casks, and a Pedro Ximinez Finish 2007 (55.5% alcohol by volume – 111 proof) – the third and final release in the Collector’s Edition series.
From Bunnahabhain emerges a 2008 Manzanilla Matured whisky (55.4% alcohol by volume – 110.8 proof), having maturing in former Manzanilla sherry casks for 11 years as well as a Bunnahabhain Moine 1997 Pedro Ximenez Finish (50% alcohol by volume – 100 proof), a single malt bottled at cask strength.
